per project basis: Lead producer for the big picture of a music project. Gets projects done by working with the label, musicians, songwriters, and production teams to ensure the project runs smoothly and meets the client’s expectations. Executive producers may handle many aspects of production, including:
- Business decisions
- Organization
- Negotiation
- Songwriting
- Orchestration
- Sound engineering
- Vocal arrangements
- Approving content and cover art
- Music distribution and marketing plans
- Selecting the musicians and technicians needed
- Maintaining the production timetable and budget
- Reviewing the final version to ensure the desired sound and quality
- Developing strategies for album releases, music video concepts, promotional campaigns, and branding
